We have scoured the world (in a figurative sense) looking for the finest art papers and ink combinations – here’s what we found:
Archival Pigmented Prints (giclee)
Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Paper
100% cotton rag acid-free paper, bright white with a smooth finish, 188gsm, imported from Germany
Concord Rag Paper
100% cotton rag acid-free paper, antique white with a velum finish, 180gsm, imported from France
Somerset Velvet Paper
100% cotton rag acid-free paper, bright white with a velvet finish, mouldmade, 255gsm, imported from England
Epson Ultra-chrome Ink
7 color pigmented ink set -- the first archival ink that can hold its own against the non-permanent dye based inks. It has gives us outstanding results on photo-giclee prints.
Roland Pigmented Ink
6 color pigmented inks -- CMYK plus orange and green color process.
We like it for reproducing vintage lithographs, especially on the concord natural colored paper.
Please note: These papers and inks happen to be our favorites, as a matter of personal taste, however there are several other excellent choices for fine art print making, including traditional serigraph and lithograph printing.
We are adding prints from several other publishers and we’ll be updating this page to include those print specs as well as a complete photographic section. Please check back and feel free to email us with your questions.
